Who Can Apply for Junior Executive?
AAI has announced Junior Executive vacancies in four disciplines.
For Junior Executive (Finance), candidates need an MBA with Finance specialisation, a PG Diploma in Management with Finance specialisation, or qualifications such as Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst.
For Junior Executive (Law), applicants need a professional law degree, either a three-year regular course after graduation or a five-year integrated law course after Class 12. Candidates should also be eligible for enrolment as an advocate with the Bar Council of India.
For Junior Executive (Operations), candidates should either be science graduates with a full-time two-year MBA or hold a full-time regular bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Junior Executive (Survey & Cartography) requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Technology or specified postgraduate qualifications in Geography, Remote Sensing and GIS, Geo-informatics or Geomatics.
Importantly, the notification lists no prior work experience requirement for any of these four Junior Executive posts.
Eligibility for Manager Posts
Manager vacancies are available across 11 disciplines. Educational requirements vary by position.
Engineering-Civil and Engineering-Electrical posts require the corresponding bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology. Manager (IT) accepts specified engineering/technology qualifications or MCA, while Manager (Architecture) requires a bachelor’s degree in Architecture along with registration with the Council of Architecture.
Specialised qualifications are prescribed for Finance, Law, Fire Services, Operations, Commercial, Corporate Planning and Corporate Communications.
A major difference from Junior Executive recruitment is the experience requirement. Manager positions generally require three years of relevant post-qualification work experience in the concerned field.
Candidates should therefore verify the exact discipline-specific qualification and experience conditions before submitting an application.
AAI Age Limit 2026
The maximum age as on September 7, 2026 is:
- Manager: 32 years
- Junior Executive: 27 years
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates. Eligible PwBD candidates can receive a relaxation of up to 10 years. Other relaxations apply to specified categories under the notification.
Application Fee
The application fee is ₹1,000 including GST, payable through online mode.
However, AAI has exempted SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates from paying the application fee. Candidates who have successfully completed one year of apprenticeship training with AAI are also exempt.
AAI Selection Process
A computer-based test of objective type will be conducted for all 15 post codes. One favourable provision for candidates is that there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in the CBT.
Candidates will subsequently be shortlisted on the basis of CBT performance for application verification and other tests applicable to the post.
For Manager posts under Post Codes 1 to 11, an interview is also part of the selection process.
Manager (Fire Services) involves additional stages such as Physical Measurement Test, Driving Test and Physical Endurance Test before the interview.
Candidates applying for Manager (Airport Operations) and Junior Executive (Airport Operations) should also note that a valid Light Motor Vehicle licence is essential. Temporary or learner licences will not be accepted.
AAI Salary and Annual CTC
The Junior Executive post carries an IDA pay scale of ₹40,000 to ₹1,40,000, while Manager posts carry a scale of ₹60,000 to ₹1,80,000.
AAI also provides Dearness Allowance, perks calculated at 35% of basic pay, HRA and benefits including CPF, gratuity, medical facilities and applicable social security schemes.
The approximate annual CTC is:
- Junior Executive: ₹14 lakh
- Manager: ₹21 lakh
These figures make the recruitment particularly significant for candidates seeking technical, managerial and professional roles in a central public-sector enterprise.
How to Apply for AAI Recruitment 2026
Candidates must submit their applications online through the AAI recruitment portal. Applications through other modes will not be accepted.
Applicants should first select the relevant advertisement, register with the required personal details, choose the post and discipline, enter educational and experience information, upload the prescribed photograph, signature and supporting documents, and pay the application fee where applicable.
Before final submission, candidates should carefully verify their post selection and eligibility because qualifications and experience requirements vary substantially among the 15 disciplines.
What Candidates Should Do Now
With applications already underway, eligible candidates have until September 7, 2026 to complete registration. Junior Executive applicants should particularly examine the 79 Operations and 36 Finance vacancies, which account for most of the 129 Junior Executive openings.
Manager applicants should carefully check the three-year relevant experience requirement before applying. Candidates should also begin CBT preparation because AAI will announce the examination date separately after the application process progresses.
